Research Activity

I am currently assessing the impact of three invasive species (Heracleum mantegazzianum, Gunnera tinctoria and Fallopia japonica) on native seed banks. I am also looking at germination patterns for Gunnera tinctoria through seed bank analysis and germination tests. The seed bank of H. mantegazzianum in Ireland (oceanic climate) is being assessed as well, to comapre results from other invasive and natural ranges. Permutational multivariate analysis of variance (Permanova) has been used as a new tool to detect the impact of bionvasions on native ecosystems.
