Research Activity

Biology, conservation and distribution of weevils (Coleoptera, Curculionoidea) in general in middle- and southern Europe as well as in northern Africa and Canary Islands; Faunistical research of the Swiss weevils, including monitoring of invasive alien species (see Pachyrhinus lethierryi, Otiorhynchus pinastri, O. armatus); faunistical interest in Swiss Cerambycidae and Chrysomelidae; Special interest in the weevil subfamilies Cryptorhynchinae (plant-weevil interactions) and Entiminae (distribution patterns, invasive species) including taxonomical research; The author works at the moment as a self-employed biologist, determination work on weevils and inquiries of group specific knowledge are welcome!
